Default 3 speed kit problems or not?

Well I just got the 3 Speed kit and reverse mod for Christmas. And I just got done assembling it, but it doesn't spin freely. The 2 speed spins very freely, but with the 3 speed out of the truck when I try to spin the spur gear it moves but does not continue to spin. Ive read in other forums that it takes 2 tanks for it to !QUOT!break in!QUOT! I was just wondering if this is true or has anyone else had this problem with the 3speed kit and reverse?

Thanks

One of the tranny bearings might be binding. I just put mine together yesterday and it spins just fine. I ran it today and it shifts great also

I've attached a picture of the three speed. I've drawn
an arrow pointing to a black disk which you have to remove along
with the output shaft to install the reverse module.
I had the same problem last year that you're having now.
When you put the reverse module in this half
of transmision be sure to press it clear in. At least that was the
problem I had and it caused the tranny not to spin freely.
After squeezing the reverse module and that half of tranny case
I heard it click in and transmision then spun freely.

if its on the 3 speeds that conect to the spur gear there is a different spacer to use to the 2 speed. If its on thereverse module shaft then as above!

minse worked fine from day 1. had to set 2nd at that meant taking the box apart 3 times and after changing to a 52/15 from a 49/154 a took the box out another 2 times. Not to mention when i upgraded to 7 inch tyres...man i hate disasembly!
