Are the tires coming unglued from the rims? Check your front and rear dogbones, see if they are bent, not sure if that would make the wheels shake though.

That 18T clutch bell is also kind of tall for the stock motor unless your on pavement.

The stock Savage wheel and tire combo make for a really unstable ride. Upgrade the foams or buy a new combo, that is the only way to have some stability.

I experienced wheel problems initially, only do discover the culprit is the bolt screw that hold the wheels tightly in place. The bolt screws hav a flanged lip and this does not cover the entire surface area of the mounting point in the wheel. So when you tighten it, excessive force drives the nut into the plastic deeper than it ought to be thus causing wobbly wheels. The best solution is to look at the surface area where the nut seats inside the wheel and buy inecpensive washers which will help spread the load over the plastic surfacr area in the wheels and then tighten the nut. This worked an absolute treat for me.

Be sure not to over tighten the wheel nut as you might round out the wheel hex with the hex hub. That'll cause a mighty mean wheel wobble!

Why on earth would the size of gearing have anything to do with wheel or truck wobble???

Unless your on the street a stock Savage won't even pull that gear to top speed or if it does it would take a country mile. If anything the tires would just balloon real bad, especially if he's running the stock ones. But hey we are trouble shooting here...any suggestion is a good one. Throw on the stock bell and see if it helps. Your truck will like the lower gearing anyway. I'd even throw a 52 tooth spur on in place of the stock 49 if you haven't already. If your tuned right and have got it hooked up it'll be on the back bumper...

I just bought a Revo tonight. I don't even have it out of the box and I bought the forward only drive kit, 40 series Bowties with 23mm hubs and Velocity dish wheels. I'm taking the Savy and the Revo to the track this Sat. to ee which one I can get around fastest.
My Savage is pretty well kitted. I'd be shocked if the Revo was noticabley faster out of the box.

what tire and wheel combo balloon the least? i noticed that the stock ones do balloon quite a bit, which i would agree could cause less stability.

Get a set of 40 series wheels and low profile tires and you'll thank me later...Proline makes good stuff. YOu can also duct tape the inside of tires to reduce ballooning.

2 things, a revo is for people who won't to constantly be under dogs. Oh yeah and beaten Savage-ly everytime.

the shake sounds like a wheel that was overtightened or a pin fell out behind the hex hub behind the wheel OR
A serioulsy bent d-bone. What have you hit lately? a park bench? basket ball pole?

as for tyres and wheels, GS-Racing make an awsome wheel with a 17mm hex that adds about 1.5inches to the width of your truck with a seriously deep dish wheel-offset. The GS-racing tyres to suit have very tough side walls and won't roll over like the stockers do.. no balooning is a good thing in some circumstances. adds extra top end speed with out higher gearing just like a drag car. But hey we don't all want the fastest truck do we? so those who like bashing go bash, and while your at it bash a revo driver!!
