WOW you must have really good doctors in BC to know the exact date when you will be a dad j/k. Congratulations, thats great news. From what im reading looks like allot of people didnt get to play much with their trucks this summer, including myself. Anodizing took up most of my free time.

well I mounted them. If you you want the truck to sit higher the hellfire shocks would work unfortunatly they are too long for having the arms sit level like I want. If the shock bodies were a bit shorter they would be fine as I see it now they are just going to bottom out.

Of course I havent done a whole lot of looking into it just yet, but I do have a general idea of what its going to take.

well i have been thinking on the center diff, and with the weight of the savage, speed power etc... just one center diff is not enough, not i was thinking there has to be a gear reduction still. so it can be done 1 of 4 ways.

1. the center diff, can be on the cb, and then 2 gears down you will have the reduction.
2. put a gear on the cb, then the diff then one more gear, and u have ur reduction.
3. same as the last 2, but gear gear, then diff, the diff right on the wheels.
4. just a main gear, and the diff right underneath, it will still act as a reduction gear but will not be as low, as 3.

there are a few ways of mounting it tho, i was toying with the idea of removing the last drive gear in the tranny and install the diff there, but i have to look into it more.

like i said my cad died, i did this in paint, but you can see how i did it. the mount tho i', still working out a few ways, i will have them up by later tonight.

I wont have a chance to test my set for awhile all the sets I made atm I sold. And I think your making a simple thing way too complicated python. I saw a couple center diff savages, if you drop the cb size to 13 14 tooth it should make up for most of the lost speed. google center diff mod by oldsavage and check out his pics.

PS your pic didnt work.

Default RE: Low profile towers!

Just thought I would update everyone. For the next set of towers I make Im going to be doing some adjustments. First off im going to make them a bit taller to better fit with my hellfire shocks about 10mm taller. Im going to just add some more adjustment points in this new space for use on a wider viriety of shocks. Next off I need to adjust the bumper support holes right now they are a bit wide and require a little trimming of the plastic not a big deal. Im also going to lighten them some more. And if I get time or the right tool actually put in a slot for the pins on the body mount like I had in my original drawing.

Next week at work or later this week ill be moving to a 3 axis machine so they will be alot quicker to make and alot less chance of me goofing them up like I did my set . I was on a cnc before, but its always busy so I cant ever use it for projects especially projects like this that take days to finish when I can only work on them a few hours a day after work. I hope to have the updated cad drawing by monday ill stick it up for you guys to peep at.
