Default JR adaptor

I just received my afpd. I purchased the adaptor that was supposed to be needed for all JR radios. When I tried it it would not completely plug into the transmitter and I got a message that the usb device can not be detected. I tried plugging the usb cord directley into the transmitter and it seems to work properly. Is this normal? The trans. is a JR 631.

That's normal. The adapter is for newer JR transmitters.

Do you have a link so I can order an adapter, or even see what it looks like?

Thanks for the link.
My cord just plugs into the back of my 10x right now.
What is the advantage of having the item in the picture?
I notice it talks about being flexible, and not damaging the socket.

Thanks_bob
