Default Software to build planes

If this has been asked and answered before then please just point me to the post as I have not come across it but is there any software or tutorial available for building planes in AFPD?

I would second the request. I'd like to build my GP Rapture 40 or find one very similar to it. I've downloaded AOA from http://home.arcor.de/rainerstein/afp/afp.html and tried loading the pt40 plane but this tool looks for OBJ files and there are none for tht pt40. This tool hasn't been updated since early 2003 so maybe it doesn't know how to load AFPD files.

Hi,

the creation of your own models for AFP/AFPD consists of 3 steps.

1. 3D modelling:
Find the appropriate freeware program metasequoia here:
http://ex.sakura.ne.jp/~mizno/metaseq/mqle21a.zip

An english Workshop for metasequoia is available here:
http://kimagure-hikoki.hp.infoseek.co.jp/index_e.html

2. The 3D data have to be converted into IPACS flightsim format:
Get the free converter by an email to [email protected], include your name and address.

An english workshop for use of the converter is here:
http://www.rodeo.rc-sim.de/Ipacs_converter_e.htm

3. Working out the flight model:
You have to modify both the TMG and TMD files manually.
I suggest to use Microsoft WORDPAD, which is included on all windows pcs.

Find an english workshops for easyfly and aerofly pro here:
http://www.rodeo.rc-sim.de/workshops.htm

I suggest to start with an simple trainer model or a glider and do not recommend a complicated scale model with lots of extra functions.

Also see the links and workshop section at www.rc-sim.de

Good success and looking forward to many new models

RC-Rodeo, what about using G-max?

I use this amazing free programme to build aircraft for use with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 and it works great..

Sheesh I had the link somewhere... oh well...

Hi,

there are considerations for a direct support of gmax.
But some licensing questions have to be cleared before.

In the moment you can try to import the gmax data into Meta. They both include some common file formats.
