I have AFPD but am getting extremely low FPS (below 5) but only when in a full screen setting of afpd (which I want to be in). If I select 'window mode' the fps is up 166+ and the sim flies brilliantly, and even continues to remain at a high fps rate when i enlarge the window to fit the screen........but this is not 'full screen'
Can you help? What do I need to download/ switch on etc..!?
I've updated my Nvidia drivers, but still with no success.
Anyone experienced the same? How do I resolve it?
Thanks

I have resolved the major issue! Right click on the AFPD program Icon, and select the 256 colours box. FPS is well up now (over 150) but colour has to be set at 16 bit.

Geforce 6200 TC.
I turned off all background programs to see if it would help. Only problem having 16 bit colour, is that the colours in the sim, aren't very good.

Any solution to this problem? I'm still not getting then'full experience' due to having to run full screen in 16bit colour. Would prefer 32bit colour! Anyone know what up with my setup?
Thanks

Your video card specs might be on the lower side. Is your video card set at full acceleration?
Also you might want to check that under "options" in the main AFPD menu, you have chosen texture quality at "high" and ticked "texture compression". In the flying menu, under graphics, disable options like smoke, clouds, and verticle sync as these will take up more graphics card resources.

I'm now running an Nvidia GeForce 7300GT which has sorted the screen size probs. Now got brilliant FPS and all's fine with that.
New problem has occured that above the aircraft when I'm flying, several black lines keep appearing.... I've tried the AFPD updates with no luck, I've also done the update to allow Starflight add on to work but still the lines appear.
Was going to try uninstalling and reinstalling the program but there's an error message which wont allow me to do so!
Anyone heard of this problem? got a fix? I'm just longing for this thing to work perfectly.
Cheers
Dave

Hi Dave, are these black lines about a few cm long and about one pixel width, appearing above the airplane? Do they appear in certain scenery backgrounds only, and do you observe them when the FPS become higher? What type of monitor are you using, and the refresh rate?
This problem could be caused by the relatively slower refresh rate of your monitor. Under "graphics" menu in AFPD, try enabling the vertical sync and see if this helps. This may bring your FPS down however.
Alternatively, see if you can increase the refresh rate of your monitor, and see what happens.

Vertical sync on, goodbye little lines!
Mike, thanks a lot for your help and suggestions. Very much appreciated.
I can now enjoy Aerofly to the full.
