Default AFPD shipped wrong cable - where's customer service?

My mistake.

Turns out I had the correct adapter for my Hitec Flash 5x all along. The confusion was over the number of pins on the plug. The supplied cable with AFPD has 5 pins and the Hitec socket has 6 holes. The orientation of the socket holes looked different from the plug pins but don't let that confuse you. The cable fits just fine and apparently only uses 5 of the 6 holes in the DIN plug.

I still prefer my customer service over the phone but I got the correct answers to my problem within 24 hours on this forum. And afterall there wasn't a problem with the product, just the user.

There should be 3 ends on that plug. One of them will work for Hitec.

IF it is the Hitec/Futaba plug it will have 2 ends on it. I found Ikarus to have HORRIBLE and RUDE customer service. The charged me $200. sent me a catalog with the price being $179. in it. When I called they told me the price was raised. BUT there was no disclaimer in the catalog. When I asked to speak to a manager she told me to "hold" then came back on and told me they would not come on the line because they were going to tell me the same thing. So I asked, oh they are going to be rude too? and she just hung up on me. A day later I was on Hobby Lobby's website looking for a plane and saw the AFPD for $179. I called to return it to Ikrus and they told me NO, they do not take back software. Oh and they charged $8. to ship it from FLA to NY. I looked it up and it was way less then that. So I will NEVER use Ikarus ever again.

Ikarus is the importer of the product. All importers always charge a high MSRP so that they do not undercut dealers.

However there should be a disclaimer on the catalog, I've never seen one without. I don't have one here handy to look.

It's always best to shop around, especially with Google at your fingertips.

The plug I received has 2 DIN style plugs on it, both are round with 5 pins. The 3rd end is the plug that goes to the USB adapter. Both of the round DIN plugs have the 5 pins set in a half-moon array with a different spread between the pins. The socket on my Hitec controller is 6 pins and is not set in a half-moon array.

ORIGINAL: STLPilot

There should be 3 ends on that plug. One of them will work for Hitec.

I can post a couple pics in a few hours when I get back home. It just occured to me that the 5-pin plug with the larger spread may fit in the 6-hole socket. If this is the case then 1 of the 6 holes in the socket for my controller goes unused.

My apologies in advance if it fits and works. I immediately flew a red flag when the number of pins and holes were not the same and didn't attempt to put it in for fear of damaging the cable or controller.

Will post again in a few hours and let you know.

I was a newb. The cable fits just fine. 5 pins on the plug and 6 on the socket but the middle hole on the Hitec socket is not used.

My apologies
