Default Common Issue with downloaded airplanes

People ask this question just about every week in these forums. "Trouble installing downloaded aircraft." So, I decided to make it easier for everyone, I uploaded some pics showing an explaining everyone how to make there new models work correctly. It's a simple tutorial, I tried to make it as easy as possible.

Matt,
My pc dosen't show a "wordpad mfc application" just wordpad and notepad. I went through it anyway and it looks the same through all the rest of the steps. I changed the version but it still dosent work.

Also I'm trying to download a Yak 55 that when you download it it only has one icon and you have to click on it to install it and it makes you agree to the EULA, ect. I can't get any of those types of downloads to work either.
HELP PLEASE!!

First, download and install winrar http://www.rarlab.com/rar/wrar36b6.exe when you download the planes extract them with winrar, dont click on them, they are .exe Now, are you sure you saved the file beofre you exited out of the similar notepad?

Hope this helps,
Matt

Matt,
I appreciate the help thusfar, unfortunately, I have not been able to get that to work either, I used the download link in your post and used that to extract the .exe files. On the others, I changed the version to 1.8.0 (My software version is 1.8.0.21). I have downloaded planes from www.rcsim.de (the link you go to on www.aerofly-pro.com) in the past with good results. Now, all of a sudden I can't make anything work. I'm starting to loose my patience...[:@][:@][]

Ok, download tightvnc, http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/v...p.exe?download and click some state from the usa to download it... Do you have aim? or msn messenger? I will be able to look and control your computer through tightvnc, it is a free program and like remote desktop, which is integrated in your computer. You also need to open up two ports, 5800 and 5900 for tcp. Then, hopefully, I will be able to help you out, and see exactly what you are lookn' at.

Hey matt,
I finally got it going last night. I was only erasing the 9 in 1.9.0 and replacing it with an 8. My buddy was having the same problem and he researched it on Flying Giants or something like that and found the same info I found here. Only he erased the whole line and re-typed it back in. I tried that and it didn't work. So I re-downloaded the planes and did it again and it worked perfectly.

Thanks again,
GB

Cool, I'm glad it worked out for you. p51robert, so you downloaded and installed winrar? After that, you need to extract the files with winrar, I will post a tutorial very soon on this thread.
