Mike,
I have the interface version (just downloaded the latest upgrade that includes add ons 1, 2) and wonder if I can use the dummy commander with it. I also have G4, would I be able to use this controller similar to the dummy commander?

Yes you can. Here are some instructions for using the dummy game commander. Which AFPD version do you have? When starting AFPD pls check for this version in the upper left corner of the main menu screen (the screen with the rotating model in the middle).
1. Start AFPD with only the original USB Interface Cable or USB Game Commander connected. If the USB Interface Cable is connected without a transmitter you will get a message saying that no Tx was detected - Click OK
2. Connect the USB Slave Game Commander to a free USB port, wait a few seconds and then click on “Calibrateâ€.
3. In the “Input Device†window click on “Refreshâ€. You will then see “USB Dummy GC #0†- highlight this and click on “Propertiesâ€.
4. Calibrate as you would with any controller (see manual).
5. Click on “Controlsâ€. At the bottom of the window click on “Newâ€.
6. On the left lower section of the window click on the circle displayed at the “USB Interface/Game Commander #2â€.
7. Proceed with the “Channel Assignment†- Click OK when finished.
8. At the “Aircraft Control Settings†window you will see “New USB Interface/GC #2†- Assign to Aircraft 1 or 2 and click OK
9. You are now ready to fly.

Mike,
I have version1.11.7.9. I tried the realflight controller and it is not recognized when I use refresh on the calibrate screen. It just shows a usb, 12 channel tx. I have also not been able to get the refresh to show anything; even with the tx connected to the interface.

Mike,
I have tried all of the steps you have listed. I have tried a FMS usb controller and the Realflight G4 controller. Both of these show up as ok on the game controller menu. When I try to calibrate, neither one is detected when I hit refresh as per your instructions. It works fine with my Futaba 7C and 9C on the interface. It won't recognize another controller. Aerofly's website, under frequently asked questions, says that the Realflight controller will work. I have tried this both with the tx plugged into the interface and not plugged into the interface. The interface is always plugged in to the usb port.

Mike,
Do you know why on Aerofly's website it mentions that the realflight controller will work? Also, a search of this forum has this as a topic ( the realflight controller does work). Found this when I typed in Realflight in this forum (aerofly). It doesn't really give any instructions.

Hi Sam, I'm aware of that and those were probably referring to older RF controllers. However, I have read about issues with the RFG4 controllers but I'm not sure if the new generation controllers are different from the old.
