Default Disk Problem

I had a problem with AFPD which I had once before. In the past I uninstalled the game and reinstalled it and everything worked fine for a year or so. This last time I tried to reinstall it, it would stop during the install and give the following message and then exit the install program:

D:\data2.cab
The archive is either unknown format or damaged

how do I get around this and reinstall the program?

Hi Scott, could you tell me what is the version number printed on the disks? Check for dirt or scratches on the disk

Hi,
The version is: 1.8.0.9

The disk is a couple of years old but has always worked. I used a disk cleaner and no change. There looks to be some small irregularity in the disk, it is not on the surface though.
