Ive flown one with the GT80, It will hover, but its not enough power for me, the owner sold the GT80 and put a DA100 on it, the perfect combo

Keep in mind the plane was designed to have that boat anchor on the nose, so balancing wont be a problem.

Errrr...you could move the servos up to a gang system, go with a CF tail wheel and put a light motor like the ZDZ on there with no weight added. That way it would fly super light. Thats the plans I have with mine anyways.

CF tail wheel
CF landing gear
No wheel pants (the real one doesnt have them)
DuraLite battery system
Kavan Tires
Using a Gang rudder system (to offset all of that nasty weight added to the front for balancing)

According to Troy built models here is the weight savings
2+10+5+8+4= 29 oz. Plus I dont have to add weight for balance anymore (Usually a pound) since I used the CF tail wheel and Gang rudder system.

45oz. (2.81lbs) of weight savings. I always say if your gonna do it then do it right.

I have flown one with the GT80 as well. It flies well and would make a good sport and lite aerobatic plane. But the GT80 is no powerhouse. What did impress me completely was the sound, or lack of it, that the GT80 made with the stock exhaust. VERY quiet.

My firend has one in his Hanger 9 Cap and I would like to say that it is not a 3D engine. Like southern touch said, I would go all the way TBM...If not, get that ZDZ 80 and have a good time...For serious performance one guy in my club has a DA100 in his and it is Unlimited Vertical at 3/4 Throttle...Take everyone into consideration here and you will have a 3D performer...

IMO if you got the DA100 I would rather get a better 3D plane. WH EXTRA!!!

See ya

Dan
