Has the Ultimate ever competed in IAC?

Has the Ultimate ever competed in IAC?
I've always heard from other modelers that the Ultimate has never competed in IAC and that it was just an airshow plane. Does anyone know the story on this. I've been to Gordon Price's web site and it gives a very good history of the 10-100 thru 10-300. But it does not say what compatitions it was in, if any.
Also how many 10-300s where built? According to the web site there where only 1 of each 10-100 and 10-200s built. If memory serves the 10-100 was crashed and the 10-200 is rusting away in a field somewhere in Canada.
He said he was trying to better the Pitts. The 10-100 looks alot like a Pitts. It wasn't until the 10-200 that it started to look like the Ultimate we know. So Gordon stretched the fuse and a few other mods and the 10-300 was born. According to the web site neither plane lived up to Gordon's expectations.
But it sure makes a great flying model! Thanks Gordon!

Like many models -- the Ultimate simply was not great on power to weight -
In today's aerobatic world (IAC) the nod goes to the best power setups --that's why the Edge is excellent in IAC.

Yes they fly in IAC. They are just a little rare. Some of them actually have good power to weight ratio's.
My dad actually flew an ultimate pitts (pitts fuse and ultimate wings) in advanced. The roll rate is awesome[8D]

The Ultimate wing preceeded the "Ultimate" craft-- as I recall.
The Cassut entering IAC was a real surprise to me - but there it was!
If one really looks at the Cassut setup - it can be seen that as a model it would be very much like current 3D thingies.
I like variety.
One thing fer shere dudes-
The wing loading could be extreeeemly low.

I fly a pitts with the earliest version of the ultimate wing in IAC competition... They are called falcon wings.

There is a Finnish Ultimate that still does IAC in Europe. Go to http://moleski.net/ULTBIPE/ulthist.htm.
