The wind seems to really affect thes plane much more than I was ever used to flying the 'old-style' pattern ships from the 80's.
That's what happens when you learn to use the left stick and slow the plane down so you can actually see it [sm=RAINFRO.gif]

I know , I know !!
It's just that I can't help making believe I'm flying the #5 Blue Angels Jet.
I have to think more like Matt Chapman, or Patty Wagstaff !!
I do miss the 2,000 foot long sllllooooooowwwww 4 point rolls though.
I'm having SUCH an awesome time time learning and practicing this new style.
We're going to have a great summer, hanging out with all the LIMAC guys, and all the
other great guys that attend the IMAC meets this year.
So for now. Keep it straight, keep the verticles plumb, center everything, and snap like BAM !!!!!

How many of you have put together your freestyle routine? I am beginning to choreograph something out just now and hopefully I can put in a couple of practice runs this weekend.
Although you may be aware, please make sure you understand that this contest is unique in that it's an IMAC contest + a Freestyle Contest rolled into one. You are not required to fly Freestyle but a separate overall prize is given for the top combined IMAC and Freestyle score. This is as close to the real TOC (RIP) or the Masters that most of us will get. In case you haven't seen it on the website the schedule is:
Saturday
Known Round 1
Freestyle Round 1
Known Round 2
Sunday
Unknown- all classes, including Basic
Freestyle Round 2
This contest is always a lot of fun- lots of freestyle participation and the club is enthusiastic about the event. Art Vail
is the man in charge and works hard to put on a good contest. I am looking forward to seeing all you guys come down next weekend.

Freestyle is awesome......to fly, and to watch !
I just think you really need to have some SUPER-SKILLS to pull off a good show.
Any LIMAC members flying Freestyle next weekend ??
I for one, am concentrating on flying straight and level, Sporstman sequence this year.
But 2005, watch out !! I'll be 'Bammin' all over the place !!!

Rob,
I was up late last night working on some music. I purchased a fairly cheap program at Office Depot last year (Pyro) that lets you manipulate the songs- crop them, fade in and out from one song to the next and so forth. Truth be told, I think it will be easier to actually fly the routine than to pick the music! I'll have something pulled together - a mix of songs of some sort.
Now I just have to figure out something to do to fly to the music- should be fun......

There are some good country songs to freestyle to. You just need to mix up something.
How about some Violent femmes ( kiss off )

Okay I will weigh in here try Tori Amos-- you could surely choreograph the up and down line sequences, as her voice changes pitch famously and her style is unique indeed. If you like listening to an accomplished key board player backed by "educated percussion and bass do check out her new concert DVD "From Sunny Florida,"the second selection:Sugar is well I like it [sm=bananahead.gif]

I really can't stand it - but I think Heavy metal is the way to go...... for frestyle that is.... Allot of energy and tempo changes....
