It is the DR Hobbies version, it is made by the same company that makes the planes
for composite arf. There are several changes on the new DR Hobbies version.
1. The firewall has been moved back so you can run 3W motors without the special spinner.
2. It has an Aluminum spar tube not the floating spar.
3. There is less dihedral in the wings which helps in point manuevers and knife edge flight.
You can see the plane that james is talking about at [link]http://www.bp-rc.com [/link] and in the picture below:

Motor BME 110
Prop BME 27x10
Radio Futaba 9 WCII

Yes, I would say there is an improvement with the DR. I've owned and flown both planes and I would say the rudder to elevator mix is about half as much with this one.

hey Todd,
You are a test pilot for BME engines...RIGHT?!
Do you know if Keith still has intensions to produce the 55 Xtreme? I have tried to talk to him via email and phone, but never get a response.

The last time I talked to Keith about the 55 he was getting the drawings finalized. I have been trying for the last couple of years to get him to make a 150 but I have not had any luck. His is staying so busy with the 50 and the 110 he just doesn't have time. I know what you mean about not being able to get through to him. I usually end up just driving out there.

The AUW on mine is 26Lbs, the extra weight in mine is the 3 2400mah ni-cads. I am running
the stock BME mufflers.
We have one flying with a BME 110 thats 23lbs 3oz. and thats with smoke pump and smoke
tank using durlite batteries.
