Hi,
I'm think of getting either a 23X8 NX or 23X8 Mejzlic prop for use on my ZDZ 50. Which is best in terms of outright thrust?
Any info much appreciated.
Thanks,
Angus

Get the Mejzlik.
The NX is noisy and doesn't make as much thrust.

Outright thrust--
static?
the 32x8 size is good on a lighter model - I run the JAS-a wooden copy of the Mejslik also the 22x8 Mejzlik also the new Skorpa props -made by JAS to his specs.
Using a decent exhaust -(Iuse the AMT pipe )power jumps way up to low 7000 range on the 23x8 and into the upper 7000 range on 22x8 props .
The incowl mufflers will be considerably less.
So thrust is not specific to a prop --it is the whole setup

Its a pitts style muffler. Never heard of JAS props or Skorpa + I wouldn't even begin to know where to begin finding them in the UK. Im flying freestyle/3D with a Vision so although I want lots of static thrust I also need good thrust at speed. Figured you would be the guys to ask.
Im swaying more towards the Mejzlic because I know they are good props + as it's carbon the hub wont compress when you tighten it up.
Angus
ps im running Menz 22X8 at the moment and im getting 7500.

Angus - JAS, is Czech-and is excellent , fine beech wood prop very close in profile with Mejzlic.
7500 on the 22x8 is good power on your muffler - I turn 7750 on tuned pipe.
my setup is in an EF YAK- stunning performance at 15.25 lbs.
Also -I am Team JR -since mid 1980's

Thanks for the info Dick. I will look into the JAS props and see what I can find.
Ive been flying with JR since 2003. Got an offer I couldn't refuse so I switched from Futaba and never looked back
Cheers,
Angus
