Hi Steve,
The NW region has a very active IMAC contest schedule. For all the latest news and for the 2006 schedule please visit www.imacnw.com.
The first event is a basic/sportsman boot camp. This was announced here on RCU, but here is the email sent to the IMAC NW Yahoo group from Bruce Hanley:

Arrangements for the NW Boot Camp are now firm. Since I understand that Yahoo won't accept an
attachment, I have included the full flyer below for those that are interested. A short synopsis is:
- We are running two events
- First event is a ground school at the Museum of Flight on Sat March 4. Start time is 9 am.
- Ground school should run 4 to 5 hours with breaks. I am working on getting us full access to the museum after we wrap up.
- Ground school is a freebie - no charge - open to anyone interested - read below material for topics to be covered.
- Second event is a one day Boot Camp contest
- Contest will be held at Cascade on Sat March 18 - registration opens at 8 am - Mark is on tap for cooking up a lunch
- At the contest we will have some of the experienced guys give demo flights, coach and judge the new pilots.
- The contest will have a reg fee of $20.
So please, if you have a friend or a know of anyone in your club that has expressed a possible interest in IMAC
and scale aerobatics, contact them and make them aware of this program. If they have additional questions,
have them contact me. I will be happy to tell them what we are doing. In addition, please try to get an announcement into your
club newsletter - editors are always looking for material.
Also, let me know if you want to participate in the Boot Camp contest as "one of the experienced guys". Happy to have you
join in.
FYI - we were able to get into the Museum of flight for free (they usually charge big bucks) because we committed
to do a display day of our models on Sat Aug 12, 06. On that day, the museum is hosting a day show-casing
aerobatics. A bunch of full scale aerobatic guys will fly in their planes and have them on display. In addition, they
will have a panel discussion on aerobatic flying that afternoon. Those of us who display our models will take turns manning the
model display and interacting with the public, will have full access to the museum for the day and will be able to sit in
on the panel discussion. Hours for the display are 10 to 5 and we are free to do any promotion of IMAC that we
wish. Should be an enjoyable day. We need to come up with about 12 to 15 models. I will start working this
seriously around the beginning of July but if you want to participate feel free to let me know now.
Thanks
Bruce
