Default DA-150 Mid range throttle problem

Hi, I have been having the same problem with my DA 150 for approx 30 flights now and have no idea as to how to solve it. I was wondering if this was something anybody can help with.
I have a DA-150 in a FC extra 330 on two KS mufflers. No matter what I do I can not get this engine to run consistent in the low to mid range. Don't get me wrong I have never owned a more reliable engine. It always starts and never ever misses a beat. Unless I am trying to prop hang and torque roll.
At about 1/3 rd to half throttle the engine will not settle down. It will either drop RPm or race away. This means the model is in a constant yo yo and I cant get it to hang where I want it.
Please can anybody be of help as it really is starting to get to me now.
Any advice will be appreciated
Regards Al

Default DA-150 Mid range throttle problem

Hi Ali,

It sounds like you need to set the throttle curve.I find this is normal with a DA 150 you want it so when you power up you have no flat spots in the curve. This means you want to try and set the curve so that when you move the throttle stick small amounts the engine will responed to every small stick movement.

Also I think you should try a 30x12 prop like a bolly or even a menz. I find the bolly works great for hovering and torque rolls. If you purchased the model from petrol po..er uk he most likely gave you a mejeslik 32x10 which is good I find only for IMAC style flying but when used for hovering it makes the model pull to much at low RPM and the model all ways wants to climb and gives the feeling of an on off throttle curve.

I was at the JR Ghallenge in Florida with Andreas Geitz and he told me you have purchased wolfgangs mig29 and sabre F86 I hope you have fun with the models.

Kind Regards, John Blake.
