Default XtremeLink Fail safe setup question

I noticed that you have fail safe setup for Spektrum on your site. Do you have equivalent setup or suggestions for the XtremLink?

Thanks in advance for your prompt response as I would like to know how to set one up by tomorrow.

Hi Ben,

I don't know about the xtreme link, I will look for an online manual, also Joe Kelly had one, I will check with him to see if he know.

Regards,

OK after an quick look at the manual;

1.) In the receiver, map the throttle channel to a failsafe channel (page 18 of the receiver manual) and set the failsafe time (page 19). Note that the combination of failsafe time on the transmitter and the ECU must be checked to make sure they meet the AMA limits, if one is concerned with the AMA limits.

2.) On the transmitter, program the throttle ATV for +/- 140% throw (or whatever the highest percentage your transmitter will accomodate).

3.) Now program the receiver failsafe for low throttle position (page 21).

4.) Go back and set the throttle ATV to +/-75% on the transmitter.

5.) "Learn RC" on the ECU.

I think this will work, but I have no way of testing it. Let me know if it does, Ben.

Matt
Thanks for the info. I did everything with minor deviation as noted in red in you quoted text. It worked great and I test flew the Roo today and it was ROCK SOLID.

Thanks again for your help

Best Regards

Ben

Ben, XPS XL worked excellent until it failed and resulted in my jet crashing. Do you have the updated antenna and software? I set failsafe to 2 seconds. Please be careful and ready to take care of bussiness if and when something happens. Good luck and PM me if you need any help. Roo/rookie are super fun, I got one down for paint,
The jetcat/projet ECU is the best on the market, IME, not sure if Matt can elaborate if these new 2.4 systems really take advatage of their capabilities.

Fly safe

Hi Joe,

I don't see any reason that 2.4 should be different with the jets, except jets have a rich set of data available if telemetry ever becomes on any of these systems. For me I am waiting a bit, I still think 900Mhz is the better way to go long term, just better physics. Also, fast frequency hopping on the Futaba will be interestiing....anyway, time will tell, that's for sure.

Thanks for the feedback, Ben. I think this same process will work with the new Spektrum modules as well.
