I'm looking at upgrading my 783 transmitter to a 378 FM system
I have a 649 PCM receiver that came with the 783
will this receiver work woth the 378FM system?
is this upgrade an advantage for me? - that is are the features included in the 378 an improvement over the 783?

Yes, the 649 will work with the 378.
As far as the features of the systems go, the 783 and the 378 are very similar. The 378 does add digital trims, a different case design, and a larger screen that makes programming a little more clear. But overall the programming features are very similar.
