Default Whip Antennas

What's your official opinion or experience re: whip antennas? Relative resistance to RF and range compared to regular receiver antennas? Specifically the Hayes brand.

I fly mostly gas engines, JR 8103 and JR 649 receivers.

Thank you,

Mark Taylor

Default RE: Whip Antennas

I have not used a Hayes antenna and don't have any info on them, the only whip antennas that I have used are the revolution antenna for receivers. The effects of using a whip antenna or base loaded antenna are dependent on many factors, such as proximity to other electronics, engines, motors, etc, and also the type of model, and your location. Most of the time that I have used them I have not noticed any change in range, but it can be less or more depending on many factors. There really isn't an !QUOT!official!QUOT! answer I can give here, just be sure that if you try them that you perform thorough range testing to verify proper operation.
