In the Horizon catalog they show two different 770S PCM receivers , one $10.00
cheaper than the other. What is the difference?

There is only 1 770 receiver. If you see one cheaper it may be without crystal. There is an R700 receiver though, that might cause some confusion. What catalog are you looking at?
