Default 170F first run

Well finally got the 170F installed and ready to run and since it was such a nice evening I said the heck with it and ran it up in the drive way. Easy straight forward setup, only thing I did was set the high, off and idle positions in the ecu and did a quick prime. I did the first start and even with the mass amounts of air in the system( i didnt prime long enough) it fired right up! no large flames or fuel pooling. I let it idle for awhile, could occasionally hear the RPMs change up and down some nothing major. I went full throttle twice but not long enough to let the RPMs max out for ECU throttle learning but it spooled up quicker than im use to so thats another plus. I taxied down the street for a little while nothing major but im liking it so far. Looking forward to the first flight! Thanks Barry

Hey Keith. Sounds like you got it going on. Don't forget to shoot a Vid of that first flight.

Im going to run some test I will be sure and get a video. I'm going to hook a pull scale to the jet see what I can get. I love all the settings you can tweak, I may need to lean it just a hair.

If you're at or near sea level where the air is ok, expect to see at least 37-38lbs, they pull nice and hard.....and are extremely quick to spool from idle to max for a larger turbine. I test ran one just last week and I'm just 54' above sea level, cool ambient temps...the 170 pulled 38.6lbs on the first run to max....pretty good I think, I believe you'll be suitably impressed.

Cheers,
Smithy.

Yeah im around 125-150 above sea level so I should be around the same.

first two flights today on the 170 and I like it! The throttle response is amazing and much faster than my last, power is better on climb out and just a little faster on top end speed as well. The best part is I can hear the turbine spooling up and down, not sure why but now since I can hear the turbine response it seems to be much easier to judge my throttle setting while flying. Starts first time which is nice for kero, I need to make one small adjustment during switch over I get a little fuel in the bottom of my bypass so I need to lean it just a bit. It seems to be just a little rick on switch over is all.
For some reason it seems to burn just a little less fuel during the flight, but it could just my imagination.

Sorry guys no video this weekend, wasn't able to get one, however it is much faster now and on my go around today the turbine lag is much less very fast spool up. I seem to be coming in way faster now lol not sure why?
