Default PULL-PULL CONNECTIONS

I HAVE A HERR FOKKER DII WITH PULL PULL CABLE CONNECTONS THAT HAVE TO PENETRATE THE TAIL TO THE UPPER ELEVATOR BOTH SIDES. I HAVE COVERED THE PLANE WITH TISSUE. WHAT MATERIAL OR PROCEDURE TO MAKE THESE HOLES. I USED ALUMINUM TUBING TO COME OUT OF THE FUSELAGE AT THE PROPER ANGLE AND SANDED FLUSH. HAS SOME ONE ELSE DONE THIS PLEASE ADVISE.
