I have searched RCU and not found much info about this Bridi kit. Recently I came into possession of a Bridi Utter Kaos and was just curious if anyone who has built/flown one might have any comments about the plane or the build. Thanks[8D]

I've flown one and loved it. If you like flying an airplane that feels like it is on rails, this is it. Old school pattern flying is what the airplane excels at.

I loved mine. Joe Bridi would sell his company and after the non compete was over would come out with "New" airplanes. I think he did that 3-4 times. Make sure you dont build it with too little dihedral; will do that reverse yaw with drop to the belly thing.

Yep, just build to the plans, Joe did all the thinking and testing for us years ago. On my forth repair and recover I did add a bunch more fin to help with a smoother knife edge. It worked very well but then it weather vained about three times more in a cross wind. I liked it but any mods you make effect the plane in some way. I do a lot of stunts from the knife edge and discovered his Dirty Birdy was a better plane for how I fly. Blue Jay still cuts and sells most of his designs and the prices are right.

I still haven't figured out if the beast below is a Total or Utter Kaos (the box cover said Utter, and the plans said Total) but as has been said, it flies very smoothly, and will do all the basic roll/loop/pattern manouvers, either upright or inverted. It will even knife-edge OK. I modified the tail feathers to use truss construction instead of the solid balsa in the kit, as well as cutting the "windows" in the fuselage. I really thought it was going to come out tail heavy with the big long fuse, but it balanced pretty well on the recommended CG. For whatever reason, I got a wild hare idea and used electrons to power it instead of a glow engine. (400Kv motor, 60 amp ESC, and 2x4000mah 11.1 V 50C batteries in series) If I had it to do over, I'd opt for a 60 2Stroke.

The white one just got it's third cover and the other it's second in this photo. I just lost the white one after it's forth cover job. Yep, very old originals, I lost my 80 inch Kaos soon after I lost the 60. Then I gave the Dirty Birdy a try and really liked it. With the minor mods done to the different Kaos design it's usually hard to tell what model you have. They are all outstanding planes, anything Joe designed is outstanding.

Now I realize why my RCU search didn't bring up much info for the Utter Kaos. I was just looking at the plane and box and saw it is an "Utter Chaos."
