My first Cub is my Sig 1/5th J3 Cub.... Still flying this as it is my favorite plane.

I'm currently building a Sig 1/4 Cub but converting the kit to a PA-18.

I'm in!  Building a GP J-3, had a CG Cub til a low battery took it, and am shopping for a 1/3-scale. May go with the AMR, any advice is appreciated.

I agree, nothing flies quite like a Cub!

Count me in! I have a GP 40 Cub that I bought from the builder in '98 before it had been flown. It now has hundreds of flights on it. Now in the process of restoring it and converting to a PA-18.

The Cub is one of my favorite planes. One of the things I love about them: a scale'ish RC Cub will make you a much more competent, well-rounded RC pilot if you let it. Practicing consistent patterns and takeoffs/landings on a windy day with a good Cub is one of the best things you can do for your basic stick and rudder skills.

Love to be part of this group. Nothing flies like a Cub! Built my fist one (CG Anniversary Cub) many, many years ago while still in Connecticut. Covered it with OD fabric with military spotter plane markings. Moved to North Carolina only to find out that the Cub was now the same color as their pine trees and lost the model while landing. Always wanted to build a second one and now that I'm officially retired I just ordered the Sig Anniversary 1/5 scale kit and am looking forward to an enjoyable winter build (about the only thing I still enjoy about winter!).

Hopefully I'm not out of line asking a "build" question here. Over the years I've developed a bad allergy to the instant CA glues and was thinking of using nothing but epoxy and Titebond glues for the build. I know it'll take longer (I'm retired, remember) but just wondering if the rest of the folks here and any advice along the lines of glue choice. Will the Titebond hold as well as the CA glues?

First Cub I had Sig quater scale clipped wing with OS 108 2 stroke great flyer. Next Cub Gold berg anniversay with OS70 4 stroke another great flying Cub flew it fof 6 years it was so fuel soaked it broke up in midair.Followed that with Hanger 9 quater scale with the fabric covering Saito 180 for power great flyer also.then Wins=gs Maker SuperCub withDLE 20 love it. Last one I just got KMP L 4 Cub with OS 120 4 stroke. I can honestly say there is not a bad one in the bunch.Hope I qualify for the brotherhood!

Homer,
Titebond holds as well as CA glues and is more flexible.

I also use Sig-ment and Ambroid in addition to CA and alphatic types of glues. I have a plane that is still flying that I built in 1967 with Ambroid and the joints are still fine. IMO, Titebond will hold fine.

Homer712, I use Titebond as well.. Only I place a small amount, with a small brush, on both side's and let dry 2-3mins or until not tacky. Then place parts together and apply heat, around 250 with covering iron. Just as strong and saves time.

Hey cubbies:
I had until midair last weekend with my Goldberg Anniversary Cub with a Saito 65 which was 22 years old and never crashed, oh well. I also currently have 100" Hangar 9 cub with a G26. Love them and add me to the club list.

HEY! Why didn't anyone tell me about the Cub Brotherhood! COUNT ME IN AS WELL!!! Let's see... what number am I?

I relearned to fly (after a 30 year hiatus) on a little World Models Cub with a Park 400 motor. Poor things taken a beating! I had a few variousARF's in between but I'm back to a Sig 1/4 scale. Lovin' it!!!

So really, what number am I? I gotta know!

CubDen, thanks for the answer on the cables question. i've only seen a cub on a lake i fish at or photos of them flying online, but never close enough to see details. i don't think my camera would like the water if it made it into the drink on accident. thanks for the thread also. 'bout time we got one just for us. all them ultrasportand ultimate guys...here's a pic of how mine used to look. i had some radio interference or something and lost control at about 30 or 40 feet. i think someone around where i was flying has a HAM radio.

OK, You gotta get me in here... Sig 1/4 scale with an old and tired OS 1.20 that I have has been flying happily for 23 'low and slow' years now.

Thanks in advance.[8D]

Hey count me in the Cub brotherhood if you would, have built a bunch of CG cubs with some kit bashing on some, got a Sig 1/4 scale under the bench and am looking at doing a 40% PA 18 soon as I get a few other projects finished up, will draw up my own plans unless someone knows of an existing plan.
