Default Deciding on a kit

I am trying to decide which kit I want to or can build next. My flying ability greatly exceeds my building ability. The only kit I have ever built is the Great Planes PT 40. I am looking at a few different ones for my next project. The two that have caught my eye the most is the Great Planes Slow Poke Sport 40, and The Great Planes Pete n Poke. I also like The RV-4 but i think it may be a little above my skill level. Anybody have any experience with any of these? Or any suggestions other than any of these? I appreciate any advice and am open to anything. Thanks.

How about the Topflite Contender. Was a great first kit for me after I learnt to cover a Midwest Hots. The rare Japanese OK models kit is another no brainier to put together like a jig saw puzzle. Some are still available.

I'm like you. Built a PT-20 and now am working on an Ultra Sport and a Das Little Stik. I think you could build whatever kit you want short of a super-scale or short kit with no instructions. Great Planes instructions are so good. I do electric conversions to mine, so there is some customization but no hard-core fabricating. Keep an eye out on the forums for kits. You can get some great deals.

There is always the 4 * series. Very easy to build & a hoot to fly. You can easily bash the devil out of them also.

jsngnn22, if your flying ability greatly exceeds your building ability, then 8KCAB's suggestion of the Sig 4 Star 40 or 60 kit could be what you need. I happen to like Sig kits in general; the 4 Star kits are good 2nd kits to build and a blast to fly! BTW, I have a Pete 'n Poke kit that I haven't built yet. I think you could build it, but I think the 4 Star would be more "sporty" for you.

Super Sportsters are easy and fun to build. Stay away from the pete and poke.
