Default sig 4*40

hello all must say i have probably learned a good lesson, now maybe some ideas on how to fix it. I have built my servo tray a little to high on my 4*40 and the throttle servo and the aileron servo hit each other when the plane advances to 3/4 throttle which puts it in a left turn not recoverable until you pull the throttle back to half the aileron servo frees up again and you have complete control, im trying to think of a easy fix here which i was thinking of just trying to flip the servo around on the ailerons or shave the hardwood brace down some to give me the space i need for full throttle, and recess the aileron servo almost in the wing center section, i know there are alot of 4*40 fliers out there so any input would be good thanks mike

Default Servo interference

Don't feel to bad, Mike, a lot of us did the same thing when we started building kits. You are going to have to move something. Years ago I seem to remember I hooked up the pushrod from unbder the servo arm to help clear. Whatever you do, however, make sure the aileron servo has clear movement. You can handle a stuck throttle, but a stuck aileron servo can spell doom.

You have just learned why most of us mount 2 servos in the wings, one for each aileron. Easier to hook up-you have a straight shot to the control horn-and you never even have to think about interference. I thought the 4* had dual servos. Maybe it's the 60 I am thinking of, I've had a couple of those.

I did the same thing, same plane. I did have ball links on the aileron servo, went with Z bends and gained the clearance I needed. Mike

Did you mount the tray permanently? Mine screws to rails on the fuse sides. If I had your problem, I could try to mount the tray on the other side of the rails somehow.

I had the same problem. I used the same solution as WMB (zbends). I haven't had any trouble. This is a great flying airplane!
