Thanks guys. You want to see pics of the mods? Thought I better ask first, there are a few. Definitely Tiger related though.

Cool! This plane was given to me as an old, very sad worn out basket case. I was going to strip out the gear and throw it away but its lines kept getting my attention. So I decided to tear into it and give it another life. Man I'm glad I did, what a jewel! I will never be without a tiger in some form ever again. Enjoy.

I just picked up a new 40 kit that I am going to start building very soon.
Side note, do people worry about these kits being discontinued?

Yes i think it could very easily happen. Phoenix models offers the "sonic" ARF. this looks very similar
they quit selling the ARFs of the Tiger 2 and Tiger 60. Perhaps they will bring them back.

It is so clean. I would get lots of glow fuel all over that in no time.

VCScott I really like what you have done to your Tiger..You have come up with something quite different...I did a double take not beleving it was a Tiger at first. Your canopy is brilliant..I have seen quite a few guys looking for replacement canopy's and if they can find one by the time you add shipping the price is half what the plane is worth .. I think your mods look fantastic ..I am going to be building another Tiger , maybe two more...I am interested in the tail on yours..Can you tell me what differance going vertical with the tail post makes? Also I can't really tell from the pics but is that a flying tail? I have been thinking about making a flying tail on my next one just to see what it would fly like...What did clipping the wing do to it? Would you do that again? Again Congrats on a a very unique looking Tiger ..

I was wondering about that. I've read that a 60 is to small of an engine. The 90 seems to be about right, but this 91 I have no idea how powerful it is. If it come close to the P5-91 glow it will swing a APC 14x10 around 9k rpm.

guy at our club had a tiger 60 with an OS 91 FX, he also had the Tower Hobbies .75 in it. never seemed to have enough umph.
My Tiger 2 with the .61FX flies really nice. it weighs in at 8.5 right now. it has lots of repairs and fixes. I put 3/32 ply on both sides of the fuse back to the back of the canopy. I also put some 1/4" carbon tubes in the wings.
it does very well on windy days.

Thanks guys. The stab is the same, just sheeted top and bottom with 1/32 balsa so it's 1/16 thicker (very strong). The same with the fin except where it's cut vertical. The elevator and rudder are 3/32 sheet sandwiched between The ribs and leading edge (super easy to sand the taper, real strong and lighter). The tail group has been bullet proof, no issues! I squared off the fin/rudder To get rid of all the up elevator component and roll coupling, it just looked like way to much to me. Clipping the wing makes the roll rate faster and crisp plus gets rid of a lot of drag. I cut them a little short (52.5in), but still has over 577sq in. The plane weighs 6lbs which gives me a wing loading of a little less than 24oz per sq ft if my math is correct. I think anything under 25oz is light for glow. It flies fantastic, like a classic pattern plane. It will knife edge better than my Kaos.

RE: Goldberg Tiger Club
Thats a nice looking Tiger earlwb I notice some changes from mine like the wing tips and the shape of the tail etc. etc. ...I was wondering if this was an ARF or a kit built ? I have a OS Max 75 AX in my Tiger 60 and it seems to be a very good match ...I am not looking for anything wild so maybe some others might find it mild however I rarley fly past 1/2 throttle ..I have been flying my Tiger every time out all summer....That and my 1/4 Cub....I really like my Tiger ... I built an Ultra Sport last winter and although in many ways it is a far superior plane I like flying my Tiger better...Maybe because it is easier and I am just a little bit lazy... I am going to build another Tiger 60 and get a back up kit just in case...I want a back up kit because one of these days they just might discontinue the Tigers....I want to be one kit ahead of them...
