My Tiger .60 has a vintage, circa 1967, Fox blue head .60 engine on it. It still flies good and the engine still runs great too.

Earl, The tiger looks great. and i love the fact that you are running that engine on there.
Also you look like Bill Clinton. Is that you in the picture or does Bill fly your planes?

That has to be the strangest looking Tiger 60 i have ever seen, real short moment and the horizontal stab is in the middle of the fuse not on top like Carl designed it ... puzzling ?!?!?

RE: Goldberg Tiger Club
Sorry it is a scratch build, some things changed along the way. At the time I had some ideas so I did them. So I winged it. Someone crashed a real Tiger at the flying field and I removed the canopy from the remains. The Fox engine has gone through three planes so far over the years. It started out on a Astro Hog way back when. We didn't use mufflers at the time and yes the engine is amazingly loud without a muffler on it.
Thanks. Yes that is me in the pic, it was last January and a bit chilly out that day. No one has said I looked like Bill Clinton before.

I put two flights on the Tiger 2 tonight. Saito 125 idling at 1700 RPM. very sweet sound.
lost a wheel on first flight, no spares. so I came up with this. "improvise, adapt, and overcome" this is a lid from a glass jar. I flew it with this to the crowds delight.

I like the quick improvisation that was done to make something so he could still go flying that day.
If you drive 20 or more miles to use a flying field and you lose a wheel, it is a big bummer then. So the jury rigging is pretty good and imaginative.
It'll last long enough to get a few flights in with it too. It is either that or pack it up and go home.

Here are pictures of my Jr Tiger that is currently on dislpay at the Philadelpohia airport. The airport contacted our club about putting up some planes and this is what it looks like. They will be on display there until the end of February. They did a nice job...

RE: Goldberg Tiger Club
That is great. I love the display and the fact that you all got together to help them with it.
It is a great promotion for model airplane flying too. I can see thousands of people stopping to look at them too.

If you do get there, the display is in Terminal A -West. Unfortunately the general public cannot just go in to see it asit is on the other side of the security stations. So only passengers flying out can see the display. Butthe airport people are taking some of the guys from the club next week togo see it.I would think we will be doing some kind of special security thing to get to it..

WOW thailazer, your "Spirit of My Tiger 2" is my new favourite video. That's a masterpiece!
I need to get back to work onmy Tiger 2, after seeing yours with a .35 I think my planned .55 might be overkill. I'm thinking a .46 ax will
be plenty. Has anyone flown a Tiger 2 with a .55 ax?
jkr, please sign me up.
PS, bluemax nice looking JR Tiger!

RE: Goldberg Tiger Club
Yes I had a OS 55 AX in my Tiger 2 and it was over kill...I think a OS 46 AX would have been better although they are tail heavy....The OS 46 is one of my favorite motors...I have had real good luck with them...Very easy on fuel , easy to tune , And lots of power for the size....

Good point on the weight, as I fly off grass I think I'll need at least a .46, and the .55 is only 1.3 oz more!
I think we just found out the .55 is the new .46.

By the way the 55AX uses the same mounting holes as the 46AX so if you ever need to change engines for any reason it is an easy swap.
