Default Looking for a trainer kit

I'm looking for a nice trainer kit. Nothing too big. Motor size .09-.15 three channel would be best. Something with a scale appearance would be nice. Any suggestions?

Take a look at this one: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXYXJ4&P=0 I built and flew this about 25 years ago, easy to build and fly, big enough not to lose sight of in the air. Any scale models in this glow size, like the House of Balsa planes, would not be good trainers.

For the engine size you specified I'd suggest the Sig LT-25, very nice kit, easy to build flys great and looks good.

I suggested that engine because I have a brand new one laying around.

I have no experience with this airplane, but it seems to fit your requirements.

I did build their PT-Electric which is very similar. Easy build and nice flier. It has aileron capability, but with all that dihedral, sure doesn't look like she needs it.

The LT-40 is a great plane, but she won't fly with a .15

As much as I value the LT-25, I don't think it fits with the OP engine requirement. It might fly off asphalt with a .15 but I doubt off grass. As to in air flight, a .15 would likely provide adequate basic flight.

Common guys... recommending a LT-40 for a .15 size engine is goofy.

I know of two in that range but neither has a scale appearance
www.sigmfg.com > Aircraft > RC Kits > Trainers
The Kadet Senorita suggests a .15 to .25
The Herr Star Cruiser suggests up to a .090

How's balsa USA? I seen one or two trainer kits that look pretty good
http://www.greathobbies.com/productinfo/?prod_id=BUS434
And obviously it uses a bigger size motor

The Nifty 50 is being re kitted by Great Flyer R C, and I was truly impressed by the quality of the wood and the lazer cutting, They call for a .15 to .25, but I think a .15 is too small, John http://greatflyerrc.com/kits/
