Awesome job Vincent! Even the mod to add the choke looks fantastic! I can't wait to see the maiden video. Ummm... just make sure you get someone who knows how to... ummm... work a camera, ya know what I mean?

Leroy, now who's holding out? Valley View actually runs it for you first? That's too cool! Too bad I already bought my DLE 35RA. Eh, there's always next time!

Take care,
David

Thanks Steve, I'm glad that you picked-up a few things reading this thread. It's all about sharing with others...

David, I'll have my camera with me for sure, but alas no video...sorry!

I need to go to the LHS to buy the last remaining item to complete this project but they're not open on Monday's so it will have to wait till Tue. Tomorrow I want to re-balance the Spacewalker to be sure it's fine. I did weigh the plane assembled this evening and she weighed in at a cool 14.6 pounds!

Wow, very nice. I am only wondering if there may be an issue with the painted surface right next to the muffler. Is it too hot or does the paint hold up ok that close to the heat source?

Either way, amazing work, should be a great flyer!

Dave,
I have not had any issues with the Klass Kote paint and heat on my WACO. The paint seems to be very durable. I will not hesitate to use the paint in the future.

VJ,
She is looking great. Can't wait to hear the maiden report. My back is starting to go down hill again so who knows when I will start my build.
Later!!

Super job my friend. Sorry I don't have the pictures of your Ryan yet. Dan loaded them onto a pin drive for me direct from his camera in the raw format and I can't edit them to post because they are two big. I managed to bang up both my Stearman and my Ryan this week and I was ready to swear off flying Thanks for the link to your hobby shop. Now I have 3 planes to repair before I can start anything new.

Thanks Vincent, a second opinion can be a better opinion, wasn't thinking about differential. you build so cleanly, your whole plane is a classic example of it being well thought out. Have a great maiden.

David, Valley View is noted for it's customer service, before and after the sale, good people. If you ever need DLE service talk to Tom. You must be from Canada, eh,? I'm close, been there a lot. Who else talks like that

Rapture boy, It's a bummer losing one plane, "2 is a disaster". well banged up can be the same thing, only a smaller disaster.

Sorry to hear of your mishaps Cliff ... Well it will give you something to do! If you were closer I'd give you a hand. Looking forward to seeing those photos.

Anthony, I wish you the best on your back. Don't despair you'll get it straightened out (no pun intended).

Leroy, soon the ball will be in your court. Looking forward to following YOUR build, keep the thread alive!

Thanks guys, I wanted to recover my wings with solartex at somepoint to replace the monokote, now it looks like I will be forced too to keep flying the rest of the season. I have a Dynaflite PT-19 that I want to start building and if anybody is interested I can copy the plans and make templates of the ribs and formers since it is discontinued.

LOL!!! Nope, not from Canada. Try putting more of a Latino accent on that. Or, maybe it's from my many trips to Green Bay eh. I'm from the heart of CA, where the fruits and nuts actually come from trees, not the LA, SF or Sacramento area!

Anthony, sorry to hear about the back! Take care of it man, it's the only one ya got.

Now back to you VJ. Let me just say.... WHAT???!!! No video? Ah man! I was sooooo looking forward to that. Oh well, to each his own. Good luck and happy flying!

Take care,
David

Ok, I have several more items to get but will not do that until I get back from the coast, leaving on the 14th. there is clean up of parts to do and study planes and manual as well as making some new ribs for the joiner sleeve supports on my 3 piece wing, center being fixed.

Speaking of that, Murphy how is yours coming along, haven't seen much of it of late, hope you post your progress as you go. Maybe we both can keep this thread going, it's been great so far.

Will be watching to see Vincent's plane all together and then the air, going to be a beauty for sure.

Anthony I'm sorry about your back also, when the back goes down the whole body goes with it, been there and it is not a fun trip. Because of back strain I made my primary building table higher and it helps a lot while building, you may want to consider that when your better.

Vincent I have just about wore out my mouse looking for where you got your control horns on tail as well as where to get a quality tiller bar for the pull-pull system. I don't want to load the servo with servo tension on the cables. I know there is several opinions on it's use but I plan on using it on mine, just need to know where to get the good stuff. IMAA and IMAC use them for good reason, maybe I should look there,?. You could shorten the hunt, I have never built a giant 260 or 300 where it's commonly used.

Leroy, when I complete a project I like to end posting a complete list of all the accessories and links on one page to make it handy for those that want to replicate what I have done or rather used. I will have that in a few days...

In the meantime may I present for your perusal my 1/4 scale Sig Spacewalker...

Hi Leroy,
I built my table high so I do not have to do any bending over. If I could just get to where I can stand in front of it I would be doing good. I can only stand on my feet for about 15 minutes and I have to sit down. I can only sit about an hour and I have to get up. Always something.

VJ,
I did get some nice vinyl decals for my WACO today, 10" tall "N" numbers from Gary Sibert. I may get the wings out of the trailer and get them applied here in a little bit. Check my WACO thread later.

Sweet,
The SW looks great. The CUB gear looks like it was made for the SW.

One question are you going to add the pants?
Later!!

Really excellent Vincent. The chosen scheme looks great on the Spacewalker.

Keep us informed when it comes to the maiden voyage. (VIDEO!!!)

Really Vincent, that looks great. You did a top notch job, and you should be proud of it. Have fun with the maiden and don't let your knees knock too bad.Steve.

Hey, I hope the pilot does not mind a little wind in the face. Looks fabaloso my friend, I am still remembering our time together and those crazy flowers, too funny. You are going to add the windscreens though right? I ordered my solertex from RC Warehouse yesterday and it will be here Thursday great service and half the shipping cost that Balsa USA wanted for a 2M roll which was $15.
