Well for some odd reason the link doesn't show in the post, but it does in the Signature. I only need someone who can add members when requested, don't need to keep track of anything, or do anything else. You know, the Friendly Walmart SIG greeter!

You sure your upgraded, strutted wing can handle that kind of weight?

With that big engine, I'm not so sure either. Then again, with R/C, anythings possible

Yeah
9 pounds of lead. This engine is a old 3W 120. It’s coming in at 8 pounds and its 3” out from the fire wall. So i’m hoping that i at least don’t have to hang alead brick on the front this time.

Finished a Sig Riser 100 last fall. Powered with an Axi outrunner specially designed for gliders.
Living up here in Northern Michigan does have its drawbacks during the winter months......will have to wait untill the snow is gone and the temps warm up enough to generate some thermals.
Nearly have my 1/5 Cub finished. Have to set up the jury struts and check the CG with a battery pack. Powered with a Scorpion 4020 series motor. I accidentally knocked the plane off my bed and broke the rudder pull-pull assembly loose from the fuse. TomC helped me fix it...wasn't as bad as it first appeared.
I have in my kit stash" Senorita, Senior, Astro hog, Hog Bipe, !/6 Cub, 1/4 Space Walker and a BUSA 1/6 Sopwith Pup.( I know).

I'm glad that your Cub was an easy fix. It gave us extra time to shoot the bull.

I suggest that you build your Kadet Senior, next. Then we could fly our Seniors in tandem.

Default Does this club have room for another?

My soon to be completed 4*60. This was my first kit. It's taken me about a month so far, and all that's left is installing radio gear. I have an ASP/Magnum 90 for it, the radio gear is S3004 servos and Spektrum 6ch rx (no AS3X) and Life batt. The only thing holding me up at this point is some hardware, as I refuse to put any more holes in this wrestling cheap-o flat head screws.

It's been a great learning experience, and besides the terrible hardware I've been very impressed with how easy it all went together. I had only built a couple ARFs prior to this, so kudos to SIG for a build even a first time builder could pull off.

Hopefully the New England weather will be kind and I'll get this bird up the in air soon(ish).

Wow looks great!! I like the 4*60 its a vary good flying plane. Sorry to hear that you are having trouble with the hardware. its what we all have been using for a long time. I get my screws from micro fasteners. They have a philups head. But if you take your time and a new screw driver, the slotted heads aren't so bad.

Your 4*60 really does look good - well done, and especially seeing as this is your first kit. You're right - SIG has always been noted as a great kit manufacturer.

Ref your title - "Does this club..." - - ALWAYS!! All y'gotta do is ask.

I'm glad to see that you had the perseverance to continue, when many others have slowed, or halted, their project.

The hard work and dedication will surely result in an excellent model.

Thank you! It was also my first attempt at covering so heeding the advice of club members I used ultracote. My Hanger9 iron wasn't so great but I have a laser thermometer so I was able to keep all the temps to minimum shrink wherever possible. Hopefully that will leave some "extra heat" room for touch ups once it's out in the sun and sags a bit.

I'm grateful I had a couple ARFs under my belt before I built it because there was a lot of learning involved (which was frankly a lot of fun). My order of beautiful, sweet allen head button screws came in from RTL fasteners, so I'll be moving along again. Servos and tray are in, engine is in, and that damn finicky cable throttle is finally working slick. Took a few custom cable sheath guides in the fuse and a new firewall hole (doh), but it's finally working nicely. Now I have to figure out the solder clevises and such and get this thing ready to fly!

thanks man
i tell you, if I didn’t love sig so much I think I would have been done. That kind of crash really tests your dedication to the Sig manufacturing company. It really is a good flying plane, i hope that i can get a few years out of this one.
I also hope sig talks to me about what to do to this plane to really make it a hit. But it will take some reengineering to fix a few of the issues. And to straighten out the manual and kit parts.
I’m glad to see that there are a couple guys still trying to build this plane, One thing to all that are building this plane make sure you put the struts on.

Don't be foolish and think that just because there is snow on the ground and that it is only 20* that there aren't thermals around.....they are there!!! Remember, it's not how hot it is outside but the variation of temps on the Earth's surface. Just had one of the best days about a month ago of all winter. It was a high of 15*, there was snow on the ground and I specked out with an Alula Trek. I finally HAD to come down after 30min. because my fingers were so numb I couldn't feel the sticks anymore. I hooked 7 GOOD thermals around 12pm-1:30pm on that cold winter day.

That really DOES look good. I like the blue on it, going to be truly impressive when it's done.

Now for some pinstripes and badges! Or, better yet, Airforce markings!

I do have some stickers coming. We are going to name this one, not much on naming cars and planes but this thing makes me think of the blues. So we are going to call this one “the blies traveler”.
