Well I took a page from my 1/3 scale DRI and split the landing gear spreader box. Not to difficult a change. and a little more scale. I could have totally rebuilt the box to be a LOT more scale by making the cross section taller and rounder, but I am not going to put in a bungee system, so I used the parts included in the kit. I flew my last DVII for 7 years without the bungee and never had a problem. Of course on that DVII I built my own framework for the landing gear out of 3/8 rods that were welded together. I think its the only part that survived the crash in one piece.

Ernst Anschütz, 1824

Tannenbaum, o Tannenbaum,
wie treu sind deine Blätter!
Du grünst nicht nur
zur Sommerzeit,
Nein auch im Winter, wenn es schneit.
O Tannenbaum, o Tannenbaum,
wie treu sind deine Blätter!O Christmas tree, o Christmas tree
How loyal are your leaves/needles!
You’re green not only
in the summertime,
No, also in winter when it snows.
O Christmas tree, o Christmas tree
How loyal are your leaves/needles!
O Tannenbaum, o Tannenbaum!
Du kannst mir sehr gefallen!
Wie oft hat nicht zur Weihnachtszeit
Ein Baum von dir mich hoch erfreut!
O Tannenbaum, o Tannenbaum!
Du kannst mir sehr gefallen!O Christmas tree, o Christmas tree
You can please me very much!
How often has not at Christmastime
A tree like you given me such joy!
O Christmas tree, o Christmas tree,
You can please me very much!
O Tannenbaum, o Tannenbaum!
Dein Kleid will mich
was lehren:
Die Hoffnung und Beständigkeit
Gibt Trost und Kraft
zu jeder Zeit.
O Tannenbaum, o Tannenbaum!
Das soll dein Kleid
mich lehren.

.O Christmas tree, o Christmas tree
Your dress wants to
teach me something:
Your hope and durability
Provide comfort and strength
at any time.
O Christmas tree, o Christmas tree
That’s what your dress should
teach me.

To all of my Fokker, Pfalz, Albatross, and other fellow Hun brothers. I wish you a very Merry and safe Christmas. Oh what the heck, Merry Christmas to the Allies as well

snobird, would you like to be in the brotherhood? You will be welcomed, just ask & post a picture of your Balsa USA Pup and tell me your first name. I am completing a 1/3 scale BUSA Pup this winter, I would like to see yours. What engine and prop are you running?

Thanks
Rich

Hey Guys - Getting started. Converting a SPAD 13 to a SPAD 7 (Tail feather shape changes and only one gun). Will have elevator control horn internally versus on the outside of the fuse as shown by the Carbon Rod/G10 control horn. More to come. Brotherhood #148 Chic

Hey R/C Art, certainly like and admire the Nieuports but their rudder outline, simply throws me off. I just luv the scalloped shape of the SPAD 7 and 13 tail feathers. Chic

Hi mariok, I would be happy to add you to the brotherhood. We just ask that you post pictures of your Balsa USA airplane, a couple pictures of your building progress would be great. Also is Mario your first name? Members of of the brotherhood have a wealth of knowledge in build BUSA planes, have questions just ask.
Welcome to the Balsa USA Brotherhood!

It would be helpful for me if all BUSA Brothers would post their BUSA Brotherhood number in their signature. If I have missed anyone please let me know.

Hello, Than you for you fast reply!
My name is Mario Knoll, I am Director at our COBRA (Brazilian equivalent to AMA) and Delegate of FAI.
I am a senior aeromodeller and since some years building scale airplanes.
Regarding the Spad, it is still being built, but almost at the end, now at the painting phase.
I already posted some pics at the Spad thread, here at RCU, but I will attach some here as well. Just some details, like the tilted engine assembly, rib stitching, color match check.

I wish you nice flight / better landings.

Hi Red Tail, how is your building going?

The power plant is an OS 33 GT with a home made muffler, to completelly fit inside cowl.

Take care!
