Just a comment on the Windex Method. I use it and it works great for me. However, I have mostly used Ultra Cote and I have to run over the area with an iron to set the stripe, or whatever I am putting over the film already installed. Self adhesive does not require this, but the film does. I haven't used monokote so just letting it dry might work.

I've got some rolls of Ultracote for my bipe which I am thinking of puting checkers on by cutting up the squares and sticking them down.
Doesn't the trim solvent work on Ultracote?

tiggerinva: I haven't used trim solvent, but I would believe it should work. Can someone answer his question?

isn't there pre-checkered covering? there are trim sheets and at the Horizon hobby web site there are like 100000000000 different varieties of checkered rolls. Th downside: each one costs $20+

Yup, you're right. I had a look at the Ultracote, they've got 1", 2" 3" and even 4" checkerboard patterns..

And then there's the dots.....
