I was wondering if anyone had any tips hints or problems with adding flaps to a Goldberg Super Chipmunk

I did it as per the plans. They were outstanding!

Based mine on the plans aswell. I would say they are not really needed, but it sure looks good.

Install them according to the plans and they will add a new dimension to your flying. They are lots of fun to play with but experiment with them at a slow speed and lots of altitude. The plane will tend to jump up when the flaps are fully deployed. Be ready to ad down elevator.

I have 20% of down mixed in with the flaps.
