Default Turning Balsa plane into R/C plane

Hey Everybody
Im new to this forum and I signed up to ask this question

Does anyone have any tips/advice on converting a plane made from balsa wood into a R/C plane. This is my first time doing converting a plane into RC. I have had other experience with kits and that but I want to do it my self. The plane has a 37 inch wingspan and I know everything I need to know on how an airplane and that works. I just have to know if I should do some stuff like add balencers or something. I cant find anything on the net for converting something like this.

Soo anyone got any tips?

It would help if you would give us more details about the model (?) you plan to convert to RC. Name, manufacturer? Not all models can be converted.

Download the plans available for Great Planes kits. Especially their small electric park flyers. These will give you a pretty good idea on how to install servos - radios etc.

I can think of a suggestion.

Take some photo's of it, and post them here. the more the better.

If you can, include a photo/s of the inside of the fus.

Is this a kit or something already built? What is in it for power? Need to know these and all the Qs above to help answer your question.

The Guillows kits are notoriously difficult to convert to RC (or even flying planes for that matter). From all I've heard, the wood is very heavy and most of it should be replaced, and because the plane is close to scale, the tail surfaces are usually small enough to make handling tricky at best.

I'm sure many others will pipe in here with opinions and their experiences.
