Ok .... i labled the rib spars and now i seem to be stuck... the instructions on this kit are rather poor to say the least, the pictures in the manual are terrible and the wording of it are the same. does anyone have any pictures of the wing being built or know where i can get some pictures? maybe someone that has built this kit could help... the plans show the leading edge to have a doubler but the one i found is small than the leading edge stock should i split the difference and glue it togeather? ahhh maybe thats where the sheeting comes into play? am i right? hmm i think im going to totally screw this kit beyond recognition... wish me luck...

Good luck!
Now you know why so many people like Sig, and Great Planes kits
There's nothing like having good instructions and pictures!

Just in case you didn't figure it out. That's a "sub leading edge", Ritch Uravitch uses it on his designs, the P-51 and T-6 Texan anyhow. It's a little different, but you glue it to the front of the ribs then the leading edge, then the sheeting just butts to the leading edge instead of overlapping it like most other kits, and the sub leading edge gives more area to glue to, and keeps the sheeting from sagging. It should be 1/8" smaller than the leading edge(roughly) so you have 1/16" top and bottom for the sheeting. I hope this helps.

I'm stuck too. In nearly the same spot..just a little earlier. I am looking for some pics or help on building this as this is my first model. I have built the plastic cars and such..but nothing like this. It's exciting so far..but also frustrating. If ANYONE has any help, advice or ANY pictures...I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks

Here is the center section from a HOB T-6 wing prior to sheeting that I built last week. I think the wing construction is similar and it is ready for the leading edge sub strip. I think it was 5/16 that went on the front, then the sheeting. Run thick CA to the sup-strip and attach the balsa sheeting, use kicker if needed. Once the edge is set run glue along the rest of the ribs and spars where the sheeting will lay and press down (a straightedge helps here). After the glue has set use a long sanding T to smooth the front where the leading edge stock gets glued and then carve and sand to shape. Don't make the leading edge to sharp as it will cause the plane to "hunt".
Be careful not to confuse the 1/4" cap strip material with the 5/16" sub strip material. Sorry I don't have any more pictures but I got on a roll and built the whole thing in 1-1/2 days and forgot to keep taking pics.
