Default how slow am I

I started the build of my Sig Spacewalker II today I started about noon and worked pretty much all day, with a couple of 1 hour breaks and all I have done is about 90% of one wing half (right wing). This is my fifth kit and by far the most complicated one that I have assembled. How slow am I ? How much time would an experienced builder have tied up in one wing? I'm happy wiyh my progress but it does seem that I am quite slow.

Ditto.

Just enjoy the satisfaction it brings to do the build. Don't worry about how long it takes.

I agree with all of the fellows here - take your time and do it right!

If you really want to start at noon and be flying tomorrow... buy an ARF.

This is a hobby, it is something that we do for pleasure - don't rush it; sit back relax and ENJOY IT!

As to your progress, it seems fair enough.
The real question is whether or not you are satisfied with the quality of the job that you have done?!

If so; Carry on!

If NOT; start over and do it right this time!

I've found that the better builder that I become, things start to take longer. Part of becoming better means having more patience, spending more time fitting, sanding, etc. before gluing. I happen to enjoy the journey, so it takes as long as it takes and I don't really care how long that is. In other words, I agree with everyone above.

I was not complaining about the time it took me to do the wing. I just wanted to know how long an experienced builder takes to do a layout. When I started the project I had anticipated one year from start to completion. I have a few builds , as mentioned, under my belt and I learn things on every build. I just thought it would be neat to know how long someone with maybe 50 builds would take to do something it took me all day.

It takes me about 2 days to build a typical sport wing once I make a kit or from a kit. I use carpenter's glue for everything except joining wing panels.
