Marutaka/Royal call it quits
Just checked out the availability of Marutaka kits from Hobby Barn. They have posted a notice that says that after 40 years of producing the Royal and Marutaka kits, Marutaka is closing their doors for good. Sad day for us builders, end of an era for sure...RIP Marutaka/Royal

RE: Marutaka/Royal call it quits
Well guys, your a little late as far as Royal is concerned- they closed up around 1996/ 1997. Royal kits were repackaged Marutaka kits. When Royal closed Hobby Barn started importing Marutaka kits. The nice thing about Royal kits were the fact that when they repackaged them they included cockpit kits, decals, info sheets, and a little set directions- none of which are included in the Marutaka kits.
It was a very sad day when Royal closed, and it is now a sad day that Marutaka has closed.[sm=crying.gif]

I guess I did get lucky the B17 ki I have has the coc[it kit with it. can,t wait to get it on the table. the last Royal kit I built which was back in 2000 was the C47 (DC3) but that one did not come with the Cocpit or the decal sheet.
