Setting up contender control surfaces...
I've never set up a fully symmetrical wing before, so this is what I did to the contender. I set the center flap (it has one flap in the middle) up to the bottom of the fuse. I figured this is where it should ride when not in use. Then, I set up the ailerons off of that. I made the ailerons where they are flush with the flap when centered. Is this right. Will this work for a starting point? Anyone who's ever set up a contender before, I would much appreciate the advice. Thanks in advance!!!

RE: Setting up contender control surfaces...
2slow,
That's how I did it and I haven't had any problems.
When you lower the flap, be prepared for the plane to climb. In my case, I programmed a little down elevator when I operated the flaps, but of course you need a computor radio for that. If you can't or don't want to do that, a little down trim and throttle management works fine. Also, I used the retract switch (channel 6) for the flaps instead of the knob (channel 5) supplied on my radio. I didn't want to be distracted turning a knob so I thought the all or nothing switch worked better for me.
Having said that, the flaps are great.
