Default which Ultimate bipe?

I am having trouble deciding what i would like for my next project, i would like to build an Ultimate bipe but cant decide on either the small GP ultimate or the larger CG Ultimate. I have never seen either of them fly. But from what i understand they are both good quality kits. If anybody has some input on which way to go it would be great.

Thanks

I have a CG Ultimate and it is an absolutely wonderful plane. It is in semi-retirement as I am moving to larger planes. It built easy and flies great. I have found (as have many, many others) that bigger flies better. If it was up to me, I would go with the CG one because it is bigger. I have only seen the GP Ultimate fly, and it does fly good. I just think a bigger plane tracks easier in the air and is easier to see.

Good luck. I am sure you probably won't be disappointed with whichever plane you choose.

Both kits are excellent!

The GP is a great Throw-it-in-the-car-and-go-flying plane, and the Goldberg is a bit more impressive.

Both are outstanding aerobats.

The GP matches up great with a 70ish 4-stroke while the CGM is good for anything from a 91 to a 150 (100 - 120 being optimal)

The Goldberg size also lends itself well to a smoker.

Thanks for your opinions i think I am leaning towards the CG ultimate at this stage. By the way this is my first kit since my trainer, i have had a few arf's in between i don't know if the ultimate will be too difficult either?

THe Goldberg is a great kit. The wire gear & cowl leave a bit to be disired but it builds and flys great. If you can read and follow pictures you will have no problem with the build. Flying is as fun as you make it. I've had several and powered them all with the same O. S. 91 2 stoke. Flys scale. Good Luck.-Mike

I think now the Goldberg Ultimate is the plane for me, I'm going to put a ST90 in i think, not sure though, also i would like to put a smoker on if weight permits is slimline the only people that make smoker exhausts for that type of engine?

I would try it with the stock muffler first.

I would stay away from the smoke at first, due to the weight. After you have a gotten used to the way it flys you can always go back and out smoke in. I've got a standard Pitts muffler on my 91.

Dale691,
Sounds like you made a good decision with the CG Ultimate. I think the GP kit is faster and perhaps a little harder to handle because of the smaller size. I have never heard a bad review of either kit.
