Flying wires cetainly.
I haven't worked out how yet, I'll do a re-read of the previous posts to get some ideas but I will definitely use them for the rear.

Yep i want to use them for rear as well. Maybe for the wings as well if the plane wll fit in my car, if not then only rear wireing. You can buy flying wires kit or you can use strings from the piano or guitar as Bassman did.

RE: Flair Puppeteer Trust Angles
Patrick,
I'm intrigued by you photos of a couple of posts ago.
As with some other images of the pup I have seen posted, I see that you have some light coloured [balsa?] horizontal ribs between the vertical ribs on the front side fuse'; i.e between the part numbers:
rib 25 and 27
and
rib 27 and 28.
Now I cant see any reference to these on my pup plans. I would have thought that they would have been on sheet 2 of 7, simply because they need to be put on B4 the front sides of the fuse are sheeted.
I have seen these on many other images of the pup in the process of being built.
Perhaps they have been found to be unnecessary on later builds?
Is yours an original pup of the later [slightly modiifed] pup II?
Can anyone else throw any light on this please?
Vince

I think you have miss understood something my friend. The horizontal ribs are my own idea. I have used them becouse i will not fully cover my sides .Heres what i mean.My pup is the II series same as yours.: )))Now i need to work on the horizontal and vertical ribs a bit more and then i would apply the aluu sheet to the covered places.

Hi Patrick,
I think this is what threw me - from a posting on a different site but with a similar idea of leaving this area to be covered by canvas no doubt.

Hi Vincento!!!
Yes this is a similar thing im going to do. I think i have seen this photo on a dutch website. The only difference is that he will not put a covering in the front and thats what I did becouse i want to add the alluminium sheets.Anyway........ If you apply the alluminium sheeting to your plane and want to make it look old then the best wayto do it is to sand it horizontally with fine sandpaper and a little bit of water. Good luck.

Hi Patrick,
I've gone for Futaba's latest 6EXAP.
I'll be using flaperons which requires a servo in each wing.
The system comes with 4 servos. The additional servo I bought is a micro servo for the throttle.
By the way, I've almost completed the ali sheeting at the front end and will post some pictures soon.

Hi vincento!
Im looking for a transmitter that is not too expensive and includes what is needed and Futaba 6EXAP is not so expensive and i think it includes everythink i will need.
I want to put the alluminium sheeting after i cover the plane, but let me see your idea first. My building went slow for some time as ididnt feel good enough( I was a liitle bit ill. : (

Hi again.
One more think I might include in my plane will be the FMA Co-pilot, It is not that much expensive and it gives a great use for a pilot like me.
I dont realy want anything seriouse to happen to my bird.

RE: Flair Puppeteer Trust Angles
Hi Patrick,
I've just finished the ali sheeting and I think it looks superb.
Into one side I've cut some slots to help ventilate the engine and they will also be useful for allowing me to see whether the fuel line to the carb is full or not.
Also built into the sheeting I have a remote glow and a fuel filler.
The ali sheeting is removable so that I can get to the front end to move the battery around for the correct CofG, get to the fuel filter etc.
I recomend that you trial fit the ali sheeting before you sheet with balsa. This is because you will need to glue some wood blocks to the ribs to take the screws which will fix the ali sheeting on - a bit like the blocks attached to the front of the firewall onto which the cowl is screwed.
I'll post some pics in the next few days.

I was thinking about glueing the ali sheeting to the balsa wood so it will stay forever. What fuel filler did you use? Send me your pics of what youve done ok.

RE: Flair Puppeteer Trust Angles
I used the Du-Bro filler. Its mounted onto an ali bracket behind the sheeting. the sheeting then has a circular hole in it for access. That way, I dont have to unscrew it from the ali sheeting to get the sheeting off. That probably doesn't make sense but it will when I post the photos.
You may well be ok glueing the ali sheeting on. Its just that I wanted mine removeable for access - under the ali sheeting I have removed most of the balsa so that I have complete access to the inside.
If glueing I think you will have to be very accurate with the pre-formed shape of the ali before you glue it on. Otherwise it will stand proud of the balsa in places rather than being a nice 'skin-tight' fit.
By screwing it down [with servo mounting screws or similar size] you can achieve a very tight fit - particulary betwen the different pieces of ali.
as soon as I get my digital camera back I'll post the images.

RE: Flair Puppeteer Trust Angles
Hi patrick.
I haven't forgotten to post my pictures, its just that I haven't got my camera back yet.
I have a problem with my wings that I hope you can help me out with.
I farmed the job of building the wings out to my father. Not a good idea!
I think that the dihedral angle is wrong. Do you know what it should be?
If you haven't built the wings yet, can you look at the dihedral braces and try to measure the angle?
If you have built them, what is the height of one wing [and at what distance] if the other wing is laid flat?
Thanks ,
Vince

RE: Flair Puppeteer Trust Angles
I have put the wings together already so I cant tell you the angle. But i have put one wing flat and i measured the height of the other wing. It is approximately 4.7 cm at the last rib on the other wing.(remember last rib not the wing tip).

NO NO NO NO NO!!!! It is not 4.7 cm . I cant really tell you becouse when i put the wings onto the plane and connect the interplane struts then the distance varies. From my view the angle is about 13 degrees.

This is how im dealing with my alluminium covering until now. I will paint the rest of remaining wood near the cocpit with antique brown or similar.
