Default How To Figure Wing Loading???

I should know this--but I just can't figure it out. If a plane weighs 25 lbs(400oz) and has 1700 square inches of wing--what is the loading?

Default Wing Loading

Convert the 1700sq/in to sq/ft by dividing 1700 by 144 (12" x 12" = 144sq/in). That should give you 11.80 sq/ft. Divide 11.80lbs. into 400oz. and your answer should be 33.89oz per sq/ft. Big plane, huh!

I think I'm correct on this but check me.

Default Correction...

It should read: "Divide 11.80 sq/ft...", not "lbs". Sorry...that's what happens when the phone rings...
