Default Coverite Black Baron Special

Anyone built this one? A neat little sport plane from the 90s.

I'm curious about the kit quality and build details.

TIA...

I just purchased this kit today and it seems to be excellent! Very classy looking too! I'll keep the thread posted on the build...

Thanks. These things are apparently rare as hen's teeth. My inquiry was generated by one on eBay a couple of weeks back, but I lost interest when the bidding went over $75.

Arthur, I'd be very interested in your impression of the kit quality overall; as in, how's the wood and die-cutting, if any? Good plans & instructions? I don't worry about hardware; I usually end up using my own preference anyway. But if the wood, and parts fit, is good quality, this model is "different" enough to justify a higher purchase price.

Please advise...

Steve, I only opened the box some 45 minutes after I bought it (because I was driving! ) but I can tell you the die cutting and general wood quality is really very good.

Plans are simple but very well drawn and clear. The instructions are illustrated with drawings instead of photos but easy to follow. There are many molded parts that help achieve the looks of the fuselage, makes building pretty fast.

I paid less than the $75 Ebay auction (I had an eye on it too) but I would gladly pay that price for this kit. You will not be disappointed.

Cheers,

Art
