Where do I exit the fuel lines?(4* .40)
Hey there fellas and ladies,
I am building a Four Star .40 and have come across a blank in the directions. First of all, maybe I am blind but I have looked at both the plans and the booklet and can not find any info on where to exit my fuel lines. I am using a regular 2 Stroke engine. Do I drill a hole through the firewall large enough for the two to pass through?
Also, for those of you that have built this kit, have you made your own servo tray? I have a plastic futaba servo tray but two of the servo arms are hitting. It may work if I use the round servo arms. Are there any negatives in using the round arms? Thanks

typically the fuel lines pass through a hole in the firwall. usually this hole is located dead center of the engine or a bit lower. I like the hole to be of a larger dia. than the cap for the fuel tank so when the fuel tank is mounted the fuel lines don't get pinched off.

When I built my 4 *, I drilled two holes in the firewall that line up with the vent and fuel pickup brass tubes as they come out of the fuel tank. I used the fuel tank that is recommended in the instructions. The alignment with the carb is good enough that I have not experienced any problems with the OS 46LA I started with, or the OS 50SX I currently run. I drilled the holes large enough for the silicone fuel tubing to fit over the brass and be inserted into the drilled holes.

If you are using standard fuel line you will need to drill 1/4 inch holes and force the fuel line through the holes. Drill them side by side even with the fuel intake on the carb. Just make sure not to push the tank in to far so as not to pinch the lines. Install foam to protect the tank from moving forward during normal flying. Good Luck, Dave
