Default GP RV-4 engine mounting

Hi all,

I'm trying to mount an OS70FL on my RV-4.
Since the whole engine structure is different that the 46FX I have on it before, it seems like it cannot be mounted on the same engine mount where it was originaly located.
If I try to mount the engine sideways, the throttle arm is located above the engine and there is no way the throttle pushrod can reach it there.

If there is anyone with the same combo, please post pictures of your engine mouted (without the cowl).

Thanks,
Sharon.

Hello sharont!
I mounted a Saito 91 from the start of. But maybe this picture can help you. I think you have to make a new throttle link in the upper position of the firewall. But if you have the small hatch i think it would be easy to fix.

Hi morwan,

Thanks for the reply.

Do you have pictures of the throttle linkage, where it goes through the fusalage and how the throttle servo is mounted?

Sharon.

Can't you rotate the carb on the OS engine so that the throttle linkage is on the bottom and the needle valve is on the top.

My battery pack is located under the small tank you see on the picture. I have mounted a smoke system in my RV4 also. I dont have any weight problems. The thing is that the weight of the Saito are almost identical wiht the Os 70 fourstroke
