I purchased a used Sig Skyboldt and want to check the CG on it.Seems strange has about a Lb.of lead on the firewall, may be necessary but would like to check it out.If someone has the plans for it they should tell where to balance it at.Do you try to balance these bipes like the others upside down ont the balancer?

My skybolt, if I remember correctly balanced at the LE of the bottom wing. I had an OS 61fsr abc with a pitt muffler. The servos were at the center of the bottom wing with the battery at the CG. Hope I've helped some. Did I read correctly, you said it had a pound of lead in the nose? Is it covered with monocote or painted? Mine was monocoted. Wish I still had it.

Joel; Thanks for the info will help check out this one.Looks to be painted,Really wonder about all that weight but it does have kind of a short nose.It literally has at least 30 of those lead weights you buy in the strips for the planes not sure if each square is an ounce but looks like lot of weight.Mine has the servos in middle of lower wing ailerons only on lower wing. Was going to use a Max61fx but case is to big for mounts supposedly the K&B has a narrower case and I have one of them with a Pitts muffler,Presently residing in a cub float plane.Leaving for Yuma so will take it out and see how it fits will have ice here before long and float planes aren't big thing in Yuma.Again thanks as this will let me check to see about all that weight,,kind of new at this.Bob Moodie
