Nice looking Zagi!
I learned the hard way to put the receiver off to one side buried in the foam itself. If you look at the picture, you might be able to just see the different colored section inside the blue circle. My Hitec 555 receiver is buried there under the foam with a foam plug on top. The servo leads are under the edge of the motor tray lip. Being under the lip allows them to have clearance for the wires.
With the receiver in the foam like this, it is very well protected!

I never bothered with lateral (side to side) balance with any flying wing I have built. After I learned that putting the rx inside the battery tray will destroy the rx during a crash, I have always put the rx off to the side like that. You want the battery pack to eject out of the front during a crash and you want NOTHING between it and the path it will take on the way out! I think the rx is close enough to the centerline that it really wont make that much difference. I even have the antenna routed thru the wing and trailing off the end on that same side.
The Zagi remains fully combat ready and a blast to slope soar with.
This is my second Zagi 400X and the pictures are of it after rebuilding and covering it.
I have also built and flown the Trick RC Razor and a Wedgie. I dont think either are being made anymore. All had the rx off to the side like that.
The only place safer for the rx is on the shelf in your shop.
