I've seen a couple companies that product decal paper for a deskjet printer.

Most seem to have you print on the paper and then spray a clearcoat on it and then use like regular decals.

Any real experience about any product that really works well.

And.... where did you get the material

For my Gee Bee I used clear decal paper made by Avery, bought at the local office shop. I used Photoshop to make the designs. Try to squeeze as much as you can onto a sheet as they run 11 bucks for 6 sheets. The results are fantastic if you have a decent printer. The only problem I found was the sheet was not as sticky as I wanted, so I used some clear Monokote over each decal that was big enough to stick to the covering surface as well.

One alternative to decal paper that I've tried for homemade decals is using something called "Body Tattoo Paper". I know it sounds weird but it's actually a clear, extremely sticky and thin plastic that you end up with the graphic on the >>sticky<< side. Once you've applied it to model the inked graphic is under the plastic so it's protected and the clear plastic appears to be reasonable fuel proof. Also, it seems to stop at least some of the UV because the graphic doesn't seem to fade in the sun like others I've made do. I coat mine with clear Nelson's water base epoxy just for good measure and unless you get really close, you can't see the plastic.

Probably be a good idea to seal the edge of the plastic with thin CA if you don't plan to overcoat it.
