I was wondering if anyone here has a top swept wing on their HOG bipe and does it make any difference?...i'm starting a Hog build with lots of mods planned and i think it would look good with a swept wing

I wondered the same thing building mine, But wondering was as far as that went, I didn't want to have to figure out the CG or end up with a bipe that didn't fly too well so I just did the usual Hog mods and a few of my own. Keep us posted if you do it, Would be interesting. This is mine so far.

what mods have you done?
I plan on a bunch of things
1. Cowl- not sure which one to choose from yet... Hangar9 cap 232, Hangar9 sport cap .40, RV4 from distributor or from Fiberglass Specialties, or whatever i can find that looks good
2. Landing gear- use LG from Bucker Jungmeister, Move forward 1/2" to 3/4",
3. Hatch for tank
4. Wings- sweep top wing
5. Ailerons- use a 4 aileron setup
6. Windshield- add windshield for canopy
7. Rudder- add 1/2" to 3/4" to rudder, square off bottom, counter balance, use more throw in rudder
8. Elevator- add 1/2" to 3/4" to elevator, counter balance, use more throw and allow for more throw to be used in rudder
9. Tailwheel- Klett tailwheel

Mods I have done are
1. Landing gear- Goldberg Landing Gear .40-.60 Glass Filled Resin they are wider on the base so I made a larger block (about 1/2 in and angled it forward a little. They are 1/2 in taller for more prop clearence than stock. (Saito 100, Need all the clearence I can get)
2. Hatch for tank and screwed the plate in instead of gluing as called for (The plate the tank sits on)
3. Ailerons- use a 4 aileron setup as called for in plans but will be putting lightning holes in them, Very heavey balsa in the kits we recieved.
4. Windshield- still working out this one but plan to do something, Might even make a aluminum frame for them at work for the barnstormer look.
5. Rudder- added 1 1/2" to rudder and rounded it off to look more like a Waco or pitts. I took the stock rudder and flattened the rounded side and glued it to 1/4 in balsa stock so it still has the profile to it.
6. Elevator- just opened up the center to give the rudder more throw, It already has plenty of elevator so I think it would have been overkill
7. Tailwheel- I have a Sullivan assembly ready to mount
That's all I can think of right now but will post any other mods I decide to do, Can't wait to start covering AARRRGGG THE SANDING STARTS SOON......
